Patrick Seguin
Founded in 1989, GALERIE PATRICK SEGUIN is located in Bastille, Paris, within a 300-square-meter space designed by architect JEAN NOUVEL (Pritzker Prize 2008). The gallery has showcased the talent of renowned French designers such as JEAN PROUVÉ, CHARLOTTE PERRIAND, PIERRE JEANNERET, LE CORBUSIER, and JEAN ROYÈRE.
Particularly specializing in the work of Jean Prouvé, Galerie Patrick Seguin is dedicated to promoting both his furniture and his prefabricated houses. Today, the gallery holds the largest collection of these unique or limited-edition prefabricated houses.
Patrick Seguin’s meticulous selection of works and their thoughtful, educational presentation have led to groundbreaking exhibitions. Thanks to its expertise, the gallery has collaborated with internationally prestigious museums such as the Centre Pompidou and Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris, MoMA in New York, the Venice Architecture Biennale, and the Musée des Beaux-Arts in Nancy.
In 2018, Patrick Seguin was named Chevalier of the Order of Arts and Letters by the French Ministry of Culture, a distinction awarded by Jack Lang, former Minister of Culture.
The gallery has also developed an extensive editorial line, publishing monographic works that complement its programming, including titles on Jean Prouvé, Jean Royère, Le Corbusier – Pierre Jeanneret – Chandigarh, and Jean Prouvé Architectures.
In addition to its focus on architect-designed furniture and Jean Prouvé’s prefabricated houses, Galerie Patrick Seguin annually hosts *carte blanche* exhibitions during FIAC, inviting leading international contemporary art galleries to showcase their works in its Parisian space. Past collaborations have included Jablonka, Hauser & Wirth, Gagosian, Presenhuber, Sadie Coles, Massimo De Carlo, Paula Cooper, Kurimanzutto, Luhring Augustine, Karma, Ivor Braka, Campoli Presti, David Kordansky, and Gavin Brown’s enterprise.
